1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and understand how you use the service. SpeakEasy uses only cookies that are essential to operate the Service.
2. Cookies We Use
We use a minimal set of cookies, all of which are necessary for the Service to function. We do not use advertising, tracking, or analytics cookies.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Supabase | Authentication session — keeps you logged in to the dashboard | Essential | Session / 7 days |
| sb-*-auth-token-code-verifier | Supabase | PKCE code verifier for secure authentication flow | Essential | Session |

3. Why We Don't Need a Cookie Banner
All cookies used by SpeakEasy are strictly necessary for the Service to function (authentication and payment security). Under GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive, strictly necessary cookies are exempt from consent requirements. We do not use any optional, analytics, or advertising cookies.
4. Managing Cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. However, disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in to the SpeakEasy dashboard. The API (accessed via API keys) does not use cookies.
Common browser cookie settings:
- Chrome:Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox:Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari:Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge:Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data
5. Third-Party Cookies
The only third-party cookies are from Stripe, used exclusively for payment fraud prevention during checkout. Stripe's cookie practices are governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.
6. Changes to This Policy
If we introduce non-essential cookies in the future, we will update this policy and implement appropriate consent mechanisms before deploying them.
